Colgate Optic White

I received the Optic White regimen from Influenster. I love to whiten my teeth to the point of obsessing over it. I have used every strip, tray and brush on product on the market today. When I looked at the regimen, I was a little skeptical. "How would this fit into my day?" I brushed my teeth with the toothpaste and liked the feel and the taste. The paste is a white paste, not a gel, and it's not as gritty as some of the more hard-core whitening toothpastes can be. Then I followed up with the rinse. I swished around the recommended amount, and my gums felt like they were on fire! My eyes actually welled up with tears. I couldn't keep to the 60-second time limit, and ended up spitting it out by 30 seconds. When I looked in the mirror, I noticed that rinse had left a white film on my teeth just like the brush-on whitening treatments. I was pleased. The next day, I brushed again and rinsed, but this time I took just a little sip - only enough to cover my teeth. There was NO burning this time. Success!! I am liking this product. In conjunction with my current brush-on whitener, I can keep my teeth white with no trouble!

K-Palette Eyebrow Pencil Liner in Camel Brown

*Le sigh*  This is my holy grail eye brow product. Why the sigh? I can't get it in may area. I've looked at all the Asian markets for this eye brow pencil, but no one carries it.  I am so disappointed. This is the perfect blonde-ish shade for my face. It's not too dark or too light. Not too red or too yellow. It's just perfect. It has a little twist-up "lead", so you never need to sharpen it. The consistency of the pencil is such that it's not too hard or too soft. It's not too creamy, so it stays in place all day, it and packs a punch with its pigment content. The price point is similar to that of a department store brand, but for the quality, the product is worth the price. I so wish that the markets here in my semi-rural Georgia community would carry it, but I may be the only person who would use it. Alas, I will order it from Amazon or have my lovely and oh so wonderful sister-in-law send me more from Los Angeles or San Diego.  Product retails for $15. Amazon.com

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in Fifth Avenue Fuchsia

Yes, more lipstick.  I told you, I've got a LOT of lipstick. And this is one of my favorites! Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite color is fuchsia. I have a full Pinterst board dedicated to the color. I think that anyone can wear it. It's the cheeky, naughty sister of red. She's just as gutsy, but she has more fun.  And I'm all about fun!  Color Sensational lipcolors have a gorgeous scent to them that I find simply yummy, second only to MAC lipstick's scent. I love this lipcolor in spring and all through summer - it's also festive around New Year's Eve with silver glitter eyes, but I get ahead of myself here. The feel of the lipstick is very creamy and so moisturizing. There's no tugging here, unlike with some lipsticks (that usually happens when the wax content is too high.) I get great coverage straight from the bullet, and if I want a little less impact, I just bounce it on my lips, lightly tapping the bullet against the skin. Because the wax content is just right, it also does double-duty as cream blush, and it does it well.  Bonus points - fuchsia also makes for a fresh, not-so-typical combo color with this year's color of the year emerald green!  Product retails for $5.54. maybelline.com

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Coral Reef

Can I tell you a secret? A few years ago I was so over lipgloss. The market had become saturated with glosses, and I all I saw was glossy, nude lips everywhere I looked.  How boring! That's when I started reaching for lipsticks again, and I ended up with a huge collection of creams, shimmers, sheers and mattes. If a color of lipstick exists, I've probably got it. But now, I find I'm growing fond of glosses again. My lips in winter are hard to keep moisturized. I think it's just a combination of the indoor heat and my growing age, but yep, they're drier than they used to be in winters past. Lipstick just doesn't look good on chapped lips. But you can get away with a gloss on a dry lip and even benefit from it. I found Coral Reef by Revlon last May while on a bridal shoot. I had originally mixed it with Maybelline's Baby Lips in Pink Punch to get a gorgeous pastel, but I didn't try it on it's own. Lately, though, I've gotten my own tube, and I wear it every day.  It's very moisturizing, and such a pretty color on my skin. I don't have to worry about lining my lips. I don't even have to worry about exfoliating.  I just pop it on and go. It brightens my face, too. Because, let's face it, no girl wants a lipgloss that sucks the life out of her.  Yeah. So gloss is back! Rejoice!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Certainly Red

Do you know what the most amazing thing about red lipstick is?  It's the red's ability to make a face look a little more polished, a little more special, and a little more eye-catching.  I love blue-based reds in particular because the color makes my teeth look whiter.  Revlon's Certainly Red is a gorgeous blue-based red, that does just that very thing.  The lipstick itself is creamy with enough of a wax consistency for some decent staying-power.  It has no offensive or overpowering scent.  In fact, it has no scent at all from what I can tell.  I have a little ritual I do when I wear a red lip.  I tell you about it now, but I'll follow up down the line with a pictorial to better explain.  I start with exfoliation, then I line either with a red liner or with the lipstick and a brush.  I follow by going straight to the lip with the bullet.  I blot, then apply from the bullet again.  Blot then one last application.  That keeps a mother load of pigment on your lips and seals it in with a little bit of wax.  You'll be hard pressed to get it to fade completely after that.  Take the tube with you though, you will need to reapply.  All reds need touch-ups to look their best throughout the day. The classic black and gold tube retails for $7.99.  revlon.com

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

Lemme level with you peeps. I'm not much for hype. If I'm really honest with you, hype turns me off. Completely. Why? Because little, if anything, lives up to the hype that surrounds it. So I was apathetic about the release of Urban Decay's Naked Skin foundation. I read all the press; I did all the research. I watched Youtube reviews. Meh. I was working a very large shoot last October when one of the models (Hi Megan!) brought this foundation for me to play with.  I shook the bottle - says to shake it in the directions - and pumped a bit out onto the back of my hand. Then I took my duo-fiber brush and went to work. It went on and spread like any other liquid foundation. It was a little between sheer and medium at first application. When I went back to double up on the foundation in a couple spots, it spread beautifully. It just melted into the skin. And it looked like skin. Yay! A few weeks later, I purchased it for myself. I love its versatility. I love that if I want a sheer foundation, I can apply a little bit, and it's sheer. If I want to put on more than one layer to increase its opacity, I can, and it never looks cakey. It just looks like skin. I'm not saying that it lives up to the hype, but I can say that I like the product, and I will be buying it again. This line of foundation comes in 18 warm, cool and neutral tones - there really is a shade for everyone. And even better is it's vegan. Product retails for $39.  urbandecay.com

Maybelline Baby Lips

I collect these little guys, and boy-howdy do they work! At first glance, they're your basic lip balm. They're super-moisturizing and lock in the hydration. The ads will have you believe its hydrating powers go on and on for 8 hours, but that's stretching the truth. Three to four hours is more like it, but these are so much fun to play with, you'll enjoy applying more often.  I love the scents each one has. Seriously, they're yummy! And the colors are sheer enough that every shade works on pretty much anyone. The purple shade is the most universally flattering, but the cherry-red is my favorite! These are perfect for a wide range of ages from tweens to seniors, as the colors are sheer and the shine isn't over the top. These come in six staple varieties: Quenched (clear), Peppermint (clear), Cherry Me (sheer red), Grape Vine (sheer purple), Pink Punch (sheer baby pink) and Peach Kiss (sheer peach). Every so often, Maybelline will release a limited edition color as well. I can see them carrying on with that for a good while, each time releasing something new and fun. Perhaps a coconut flavor for summer or a hot cocoa flavor for winter time?  That would be great! I know I'd buy them.  Below is a shot of me wearing Pink Punch.  I'm very light-skinned (about a MAC NC10-15).  Product retails for $2.97. maybelline.com
